1. U.S. President Richard Nixon, who in 1969 declared War on Drugs. After the 1937 cannabis prohibition law was ruled unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court, Nixon signed the Controlled Substances Act in 1970, which placed marijuana in Schedule I, alongside heroin.
  2. A slang name for poor-quality, low-grade cannabis, or ditchweed that is misrepresented as being good-quality herb.
