A pistil is a female part of the cannabis plant seen as tiny hair-like strands on the flower or bud. The small structure captures the pollen released by the male plants, fertilizing the ovum inside the calyx to form seeds. In absence of fertilization, the calyxes grow dense resulting in sinsemilla cannabis. A pistil main role is the reproductive function. It contributes nothing in terms of potency or aroma of the marijuana plant.
